BALFOUR Beatty has overcome its only opponent to clinch an £18 million design and build office deal in Glasgow.
The competition for the job at 100 St Vincent Street had previously been cut down to just two contractors but rival firm Sir Robert McAlpine has now been edged out.
The scheme's developer, property group Teesland, plans for the five-storey complex to use an existing facade and to build the office behind it.
The development is in Glasgow's city centre, near to the Queen Street railway station.
Work on the scheme is due to start later this year and be finished by the end of 2006.
