Balfour Beatty seals Eastern work

Balfour Beatty has won a £200 of work in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and China through its 50 per cent stake in the Gammon Construction unit.

Projects include a new interchange station inSingaporefor £55 million and a hotel development project of similar value inMacau.

Balfour Beatty said it has also begun work on four reservoirs, a bridge and further civil engineering projects for the University of Hong Kong, due to be completed in September 2009.

Last week the firm announced that Balfour Beatty Rail has been awarded a £35 million contract for the new high-speed passenger railway line betweenWuhanandGuangzhouto be completed by 2009.
