Balfour grows


Balfour Beatty has bought Lancashire-based piling outfit Pennine, which made a £1.5 million operating profit on £16 million turnover in the year to March 2005.

Balfour has also spent £9.6 million acquiring £6.8 million turnover German signalling contractor SBB.
