Balfour Kilpatrick picked for Glasgow museum

Balfour Kilpatrick bagged a £3.5m contract to provide mechanical services for the new Riverside Museum in Glasgow.

The new museum will replace the old Glasgow Museum of Transport which currently attracts around 400,000 visitors annually.

Work will cover provision of mechanical services including low temperature hot water heating, supply, extract and re-circulated ventilation, BMS/automatic controls, trace heating, above ground drainage and commissioning and water treatment.

Balfour Kilpatrick will start on site in July 2008 for main contractor HBG Construction. Completion of the project is set for July 2010.

The client is Glasgow City Council.
