Balfour lands health job

CONTRACTSWEST YORKSHIRE

BALFOUR Beatty has beaten Taylor Woodrow to a £250 million Private Finance Initiative scheme in West Yorkshire after months of delay.

The work at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and nearby Pontefract Hospital will involve building new hospitals for Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

A decision was due earlier this summer but held up by issues relating to the size of the scheme. Financial close is due for January 2006.Both hospitals should be up and running by 2010.
