Balloons to light up the night sky

FRENCH firm Airstar has launched a new trailer-mounted range of its innovative lighting balloons, designed to deal with traditional floodlight applications.

The lighting trailer, comprising Airstar's Sirocco 4kW balloon on a pneumatic telescopic mast, offers the ability to light an area of 10,000 sq m.

Airstar believes the heliumfilled balloons offer real benefits to contractors over traditional floodlighting because it is glarefree, covers a 360 deg area, has low energy consumption and provides as much illumination as three equivalent halogen lights.

The company reckons the balloons will come into their own in the future as contractors come under pressure to do more work at night.
