Bam Construct is to make 100 redundancies before the end of 2011, it confirmed today.
The contractor, which had a turnover of £1.04 billion in 2010, is consulting with staff over the job cuts, which it blamed on the prolonged economic downturn.
The company currently employs 2,500 people across the UK.
A spokesman said: “We have managed to progress quite far into the recession without having to scale back the number of our employees and we are determined to keep the number of redundancies to a minimum in order to retain as much talent and capacity as possible.
“Like all businesses, however, we cannot ignore the difficult economic reality.”
