Battery life improved

Tool manufacturer Milwaukee's claim for the extended battery life of its V28 range of cordless tools has been backed up by a series of tests by German research group LGA QualiTest.

The V28 range, which takes its power from a 28 V lithium ion battery was found to outlast tools of equal weight in seven out of eight categories, ranging from number of metres cut or holes drilled, to run-time per battery charge.

When the Milwaukee V28 circular saw was tested on 22 mm particleboard, it cut a total of 57.5 m on one battery charge, compared to a cut of 41.7 m for its nearest rival.

On the test between percussion drills, Milwaukee's drill achieved 64 holes per battery charge, double that of the twonearest rivals.
