BCIS: Civils workloads to grow

The infrastructure sector is set to boom in the coming years according to RICS in-house cost specialists BCIS.

A report from the organisation says that the sector will buck a general downturn in construction workloads, with annual growth of between five and nine per cent between 2008 and 2010.

The BCIS team, which tracks costs reported by quantity surveyors on building projects around the country, has also produced a price book for civil engineering works, aimed at helping those pricing works in sectors such as rail, roads and utilities.
