Bell's new boss to steer loaders

PLANT

BELL Equipment has appointed Neville Paynter managing director in the EU, replacing George Wilson, who returns to Bell's Johannesburg base.

Mr Paynter, a South African, has spent three years working in the USA with Bell's partner, John Deere.

Bell is set to launch an eight-machine range of wheeled loaders in the UK built by Deere next summer, so Mr Paynter will bring his expertise of that sector.

The firm is also trialling a new version of its Ejector articulated dump truck in Britain.

The latest version will use hydraulic cylinders to discharge its load, rather than the chain system used previously.
