Birmingham set for new office and retail development

Developer Calthorpe Estates has received planning permission for a £4.5 million office and retail development on a major route into Birmingham.

The 15,000 sq ft commercial development – located at 54 George Road, on the corner of Islington Row Middleway – will include five floors of office accommodation with retail space on the ground floor.

GVA Grimley has been appointed letting agents for both the office and retail elements of the scheme, which is situated close to Five Ways railway station.

Calthorpe Estates director of development Ralph Minott said: “George Road is an excellent location close to the city centre, with great accessibility and transport links – the scheme will create a modern glass-fronted building and a new landmark on a major route into the city.”
