BK wins Hindhead work

Balfour Beatty subsidiary Balfour Kilpatrick has won the £25 M&E package on the Hindhead Tunnel scheme in Surrey.

The group’s civil engineering arm is carrying out work for the Highways Agency on the project at the A3 which involves dualling 6.5 km of carriageway and building a 1.8 km long tunnel under the Devil’s Punch Bowl.

BK will be putting in lighting and ventilation, CCTV surveillance and radio-rebroadcast systems. Work will finish in 2010.
