Bobcat adds six tonne crawler excavator to range

The company has developed a zero tail swing machine to work in confined areas.

A company spokesman told Construction News Bobcat launched the E60 to fit between its existing 5.2 tonne and 7.5 tonne machines.

“We felt there has been a gap in our range of crawler excavators and this 6 tonne machine will operate at a little more capacity than our 5.2 tonne excavator,” he said.

With a standard configuration, the E60 has an operating weight of 6.025 tonnes. Its digging force over the bucket is 39.9kN, and digging force over the dipperstick is 26kN.

The maximum digging depth of the E60 is 3725mm. Its maximum dump height is 3940 mm and maximum reach at ground level is 6005mm.

The E60 is powered by a 37.6 kW Yanmar liquid-cooled diesel engine running at a maximum governed speed of 2200 rpm.

The spokesman said the excavator will be available across the company’s EMEA region.
