The European Rental Association has held its inaugural meeting, voting two British members onto its six-person board of vice presidents. Kevin Appleton, chief executive of access hire group Lavendon and Colin Wood, chief executive of the Construction Plant-hire Association form the British contingent. Gerard dePrez, boss of French-based hirer Loxam, who conceived the ERA, is its first president.
The ERA, which so far has 82 corporate members, has agreed to form work ing parties looking at panEuropean rental, rental statistics, standards and legislation and promotion of the rental concept.
