Boom time

Komatsu has further reduced the swing radius on its 22-tonne short tailswing excavator, with the launch of an optional two-piece boom for its PC228US-3.
Distributor Marubeni Komatsu said the two-piece boom would also allow more precise movement in such applications as pipe laying.

At the same time, the excavator's lift capacity has been given a 7 per cent boost by the inclusion of a continuous lift mode in its hydraulic management system.
