CONTRACTS

Kier, Dawn and Canmore head consortia bidding for a £15-20 million Public Private Partnership deal for a maternity unit at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock. The 60-bed complex will replace Ayrshire and Arran Acute Hospitals NHS Trust's facility at Irvine. A preferred bidder will be chosen in January, with the building set to open in 2006.
