Bovis beats favoured six

BOVIS Lend Lease has picked up a £50 million consolation prize after losing out on a £200 million deal in central London.

Sources close to developer Land Securities claim the firm has ruled out six firms originally interviewed for the latest deal in favour of Bovis Lend Lease.

Laing O'Rourke and Costain are thought to have been among the names sidelined by the move.

The Bovis Lend Lease team now finalising the deal at 120 Cheapside in the heart of London's financial district is thought to be the same as the one that lost out last month on a larger Land Securities deal at New Fetter Lane in Holburn.
