Bovis seeks to put Venetian hearing back to New Year

BOVIS is delaying its hearing before the Nevada State Contractors Board over allegations of non-payment on the £430 million Venetian Hotel and Casino project in Las Vegas.

The firm was due before the board as Construction News went to press, but is about to submit an affidavit outlining its reasons for requesting a one-month delay.

The new hearing is likely to be scheduled for January 12, but further complaints of non-payment against Bovis are expected at the board's latest meeting this week.

if the hearing next year rules that Bovis is guilty of non-payment, the board may withdraw the firm's licence to operate in Nevada.
