B&Q £77m warehouse gets green light

Gazeley has received planning permission to develop a £77 million B&Q distribution centre in Swindon.

The 796,649 sq ft logistics hub will be the first development at the G Park since outline planning permission for up to 1.42m sq ft of warehousing was granted in November 2006.

Senior vice president of Gazeley Nigel Godfrey said: “Gazeley is delighted with Swindon Borough Council’s decision to approve the planning application. We look forward to starting on site in the autumn and will complete the facility by next summer.

“As well as reducing the environmental impact of the development, Gazeley has sought to ensure that the building will deliver significant annual operating cost savings for B&Q through reduced energy consumption.”
