Bridge call

Gordon Brown is backing calls for a new £500 million bridge across the Forth Estuary in Scotland.

Speaking while campaigning in the Dunfermline and West Fife byelection last week the chancellor said: 'I want to see a second road bridge across the Forth.

Everyone I speak to in the area also wants a new bridge.'
