Bristol £46m primary school overhaul

Bristol City Council has announced details of a £46 million investment programme for the city’s primary schools.

The biggest single review of Bristol’s primary sector for a generation includes completely rebuilding 10 primary schools and refurbishing a further 18.

Deputy leader and cabinet member for cohesion and raising achievement Peter Hammond said: "This review is a fantastic opportunity for the development of primary schools in Bristol, but it is also a significant level of change to manage and it is essential we avoid any disruption to children's education.

"The programme is still at a very early stage and there will be opportunities for local communities to put forward their views on the proposals."
