Bristol Aiport seeks civil, construction contractors for £150m expansion

Bristol Airport is seeking up to 12 contractors for a four-year, £150m framework.

A maximum of six construction and six civil contractors will be appointed under a framework agreement for the development of the airport.

The works may comprise the construction of terminal buildings, walkways, terminal piers, car parks (multi storey and ground level), set down areas and enabling works for hotel development.

Further work could include: Security check points and ancillary works; catering facilities; fire stations; office accommodation and infrastructure works including apron extensions and runway renewals.

List of proposed work, start dates and contract values:

East Walkway (Part - phase 1 central walkway): £2.75m-£3m; 2013/14

Fire station Redevelopment: £3.5m-£3.75m; 2016

Eastern Walkway Phase 2 – Year 1: £9m-£9.25m; 2017

Eastern Pier: £6.5m-£7m; 2018

Western Pier: £8,000-£8,250; 2020

Western Terminal Extension – Phase 1: £15m-£17m; 2013/2015

Advanced Works to East Terminal extension - Phase 1: £2.5m-£3m; 2014/15

Southside Silverzone rationalised development: £600k-£800k; 2013

Re-locate car Hire / PFS Provision: £2m-£2.3m; 2016

Provide New Set Down – MSCP Phase 1: £20m-£21m; 2016

Hotel Enabling Works: £300k-£450k; 2011/12

New Fuel Farm: £4.5m-£5.0m; 2017

New Security Check Point: £500k; 2014

Support Block on stone Farm: £500k-£750k; start date to be confirmed

New Catering Facility: £2m-£2.5m; 2018/19

New Office Block: £6m; Start date to be confirmed

Silverzone Car Park 2000 spaces: £2m-£2.5m; 2013

The framework will be divided into two lots:

Lot 1. Construction projects ranging from £2.5m to approximately £20m,

Lot 2. Civil Engineering works ranging from £2.5m to approximately £10m

Contractors will be notified of their appointment to the framework in March and the contract will be awarded in May 2012.
