Britspace to upgrade York listed school

Yorkshire-based Britspace is set to extend Haxby Road Primary School’s Victorian façade in York.

The modular building manufacturer will produce and install two new reception buildings at the school. The extensions will be built offsite at Britspace’s factory in Gilberdyke and will be joined to the school across two days.

Britspace’s design has received English Heritage approval and aims to contrast the historical appearance of the existing listed building.

Britspace director of sales and marketing David Jupp said: “Haxby Road is our first project for City of York and we’re delighted to demonstrate how unique our designs are, coupled with the speed and efficiency with which they can be delivered.

“Facilitating the construction in our factory, away from site, ensures our clients endure minimal disruption and that health and safety on site is greatly improved.”
