McNicholas Plc has reported a leap in pre-tax profits to £5.66 million for the year ending December 2005 on a turnover up 6.5 per cent to £150 million. Its cash holdings doubled to £1.8 million as it moved into longterm contracts in highways, power, gas and transport.
