Brown to stake claim as 'Blair apparent'

Chancellor Gordon Brown will today stake his claim as Tony Blair's heir at the head of a reforming New Labour government.

And Mr Brown will hammer home that message at the annual conference, saying Labour's only future is as a party of reform.
