Burns Museum Delayed

The new £6 million Robert Burns museum in Alloway, Scotland, will not be completed in time for the country's Year of the Homecoming celebrations next year.

The centre – designed by Edinburgh-based architects Simpson and Brown Architects – was meant to act as the centrepiece to next year's Homecoming, which will celebrate the 250th the anniversary of the Scottish Bard's birth.

But the museum might not open until the end of 2009, missing the celebratory year altogether.
