BUSINESS: Hewlett finds Gap

HIRER the GAP Group has signed a 'strategic growth partnership' with northern contractor Hewlett Civil Engineering.

The £17 million turnover contractor has agreed a deal which includes a set pricing structure, and rules for dealing with stolen or damaged equipment.

Stuart Firth, Hewlett's business development manager, said: 'This initiative by a second tier company such as ourselves is a very important stage in the continuing development of the construction industry asa whole.'

Among Hewlett's projects are the Earth Centre in Doncaster and Wakefield's Europort.
