Cambridge launches £85m housing maintenance scheme

Cambridge council is inviting tenders for housing stock maintenance work worth up to £85m over five years.

Work will be divided into two lots to be completed between April 2013 and March 2016, with an option to extend contracts for a further 36 months.

The total contract value is expected to range from £70m-£85m including the extension option.

Lot 1 will cover central heating and boilers, disability adaptations and improvements, bathrooms, mechanical and electrical installations, fire safety works, kitchens, electrical works, asbestos removal, internal and external finishes, fencing works, small new build projects, extensions and structural works.

Lot 2 will comprise work on doors and windows, external painting and repairs, roofing works, internal and external works to communal areas, external and internal structural works, garage improvements, external hard and soft landscaping, internal and external insulation works, asbestos removal, internal and external finishes and additional small new build projects and extensions.

Bids need to be received by 18 March.
