Carillion looks healthy


A CARILLION-led joint venture has bagged a £50 million healthcare deal to build and run a new treatment centre in Essex.

Patient Choice Partners, a joint venture between Carillion and Nestor Healthcare, has been named preferred bidder for Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital's independent sector treatment centre.

PCP will run the deal in partnership with South African private healthcare firm MediClinic. The centre will deliver endoscopy, chemotherapy and medical day case services, providing additional capacity for Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Trust.The unit will be staffed by around 650 clinicians and support staff.
