Carillion wins £30 million school contract

North Somerset District Council has appointed Carillion as preferred contractor on the £30 million Nailsea Community School project.

Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, the new building will be constructed alongside the existing school.

It will accommodate up to 1,500 pupils and once finished the old school buildings will be demolished.

Construction is due to start in the summer with completion scheduled for the end of 2009.
