Case settled

PLANT BUSINESS

The Royal Bank of Scotland has settled out of court in its action against the auditor of failed hirer APC.

Bannerman Johnstone Maclay was being sued by RBS because the bank said it relied on its audited accounts for credit decisions on APC before the hirer failed in 1998.

The auditor said it had no such duty of care.
