The first private buyout of a Chinese construction equipment firm is reported to have stalled due to stringent conditions being placed on the purchaser, Carlyle Group. Local reports suggest that the Chinese government wants Carlyle to pledge never to sell its stake onto a foreign manufacturer. As a private investment group, Carlyle is unwilling to agree.
