Alfred McAlpine's civil engineering team worked over Christmas lifting a 175-tonne bridge into place over the London Liverpool Street to Cambridge railway line near Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire. Project manager Graeme Howard was in charge of the Essex Road Bridge job using a 1,000-tonne crane on hire from Sarens. The improvements are part of a scheme for Rosemound Developments, project managed by WSP.
