Clapham set for £75m regeneration

Lambeth Council has given the Cathedral Group the go-ahead to deliver a £75 million scheme to provide new services for Clapham town centre.

First in line is a leisure centre, due to open in 2010, followed by a new library, a new GPs surgery and residential accommodation comprising 40 per cent affordable housing.

A planning application for the development, known as Future Clapham, will be submitted to the council next month.

The work will be carried out under a PPP contract and will be delivered in partnership with housing association L&Q.
