CLRL will become Crossrail

Cross London Rail Links will officially change its name to Crossrail in the new year.

Executive board director at CLRL Keith Berryman said that the company was able to change its name because it had acquired the title Crossrail Ltd.

He added: “In 2001 there was a scheme in Glasgow that also went by the name Crossrail, but we have bought it now.”

Funding arrangements for the £15.9 billion scheme are still being finalised before the start of main works in 2011.
