Kier Build to start 28m barracks job

KIER Build starts work this month on an estimated 28 million plus Ministry of Defence contract for demolition and rebuild work at Mooltan Barracks in Tidworth, Hampshire. Completion is due in 120 weeks.

Caribbean hotel

CARIBBEAN Construction Company, Kier Internationals Jamaican subsidiary, begins work next month on a 12 million contract for a new 225-room hotel at Negril. The work, for Real Resorts, will last until December 1996.

Shepherd scheme

SHEPHERD has started work on a 7 million scheme in Cardiff to build a 6,900 sq m office for Helical Bar at Kingsway. The six-storey in-situ concrete frame structure should be complete in March 1996.

GA goes shopping

THE GA Group has taken a 7.7 million contract for an Asda supermarket and filling station in Cumbernauld. Work starts soon on the 10-month project.

Jubilee cabling

PIRELLI Construction has been awarded a 19 million contract to supply and install 11 kV and 22 kV cabling for London Undergrounds Jubilee Line Extension.

Bay barrage start

DREDGING International has won the 10 million subcontract to kick off the main works on the 93 million Cardiff Bay Barrage where a Balfour Beatty/Costain joint-venture is the main contractor.

Miller warehouse

MILLER has taken a 6.3 million contract from developer New Edinburgh to build warehouses at Hermiston Gate Retail Park in Edinburgh.
