THE PRIMARY structure for the Solar Pyramid will be part-welded, partbolted steelwork.

The steel frame will be modularised to ease the fitting the cladding panels.

Each 2 m x 1.2 m panel will be clipped on to the primary structure.

'Rather than having the structure and cladding as two separate systems, we've combined them into one. I will oversee the manufacturing of both components, ' says Mr Morton.

But his main worry is access to the site.

He says: 'It will be a major challenge. Everything will have to be carried up a steep hill along a narrow lane.We can't manufacture huge pieces and simply bolt them into place.'
