Health and Safety Executive inspectors are visiting sites in the West Midlands as part of a month-long blitz to cut slips and trips in the workplace, These account for 4,000 injuries in the region and cost an average of £25,000 a time, when absenteeism, insurance, wage and civil liability costs are taken into account.
