Council approves £122m Norwich revamp

Norwich City Council has approved a £122 million scheme from developer Targetfellow to regenerate deprived areas of Norwich.

The job will see the former Bally Shoes factory and the T Gill and Sons site on Hall Road turned into a leisure centre, shops, restaurants, cafes and a food store.

In addition the proposals outline a new 10,000 sq ft Community Art Centre providing facilities and exhibition space for local artists.

A hotel, some residential space and office accommodation will also be included.

Work is expected to start on site early next year with completion expected by the end of 2010.
