Council approves £200m housing scheme

Barratt Homes has won planning approval for a £200 million project to redevelop two housing estates in outer London.

In a project with social landlord Family Mosaic, Barratt will develop 937 homes at the Stonegrove and Spur Road estates.

A church, community hall, public square and communal gardens will also be built under the deal.

Barnet Borough Council last night signed off on the scheme, which will see Barratt Homes pay the council at least £500,000 to improve local facilities and services as a condition of planning approval.

The project is expected to start this year and run over five years.
