Council handed £4m for housing

Penwith District Council in Cornwall has been handed £4 million from the Housing Corporation for new affordable homes.

The funding will support 92 new homes for Hayle, Sennen, St Ives, Marazion and Heamoor.

Last year, 135 new affordable homes were built in towns and villages in Penwith and another 125 are currently under construction for 2008-09.
