Councillors say yes to Menai Strait bridge

Councillors in Anglesey support the building of a new bridge across the Menai Strait.

Engineers presented eight options for the crossing, which is expected to cost £120 million.

The winning design was a parallel structure to the existing Britannia Bridge that would carry eastbound traffic on two lines.

The final decision now lies with the Welsh Assembly Government and the plans will also be put out to public consultation.
