Crossrail deadlines set out

The client on the £16 billion Crossrail project has outlined contracts available this year totalling £1 billion.

Cross London Rail Links has given prospective delivery partners until 16 May to bid for two roles on the deal.

The largest is a project delivery partner responsible for the central tunnel section of the programme - which runs from Paddington in the west to Stratford and Custom House in the east - and the associated civils, systems and stations contracts. The value of this contract is worth between £300 million and £400 million.

And it wants a programme delivery partner to oversee all work on the job in a deal worth £75 million to £150 million.

Both contracts are for a period of 10 years but there is an option to extend the duration until the completion of Crossrail. Bidders can apply for just one or both lots.

Enabling work for the job, totalling £160 million, will also be put out to tender this year and will include utility diversions, demolition and site investigation.

The design consultant framework has been advertised with a price of £300 million. Firms have until 12 May to respond.
