Cuddy's community boost after profits rise

Demolition contractor Cuddy Group is making £80,000 available to a range of sports and culture initiatives after recording a 31 per cent rise in profits.

The Welsh-based company saw its full year pre-tax profits go up from £359,000 to £518,000.

But the effects of the economic downturn were felt by Cuddy with turnover dropping 16 per cent from £25 million to £21 million.

The company will now become on official partner of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, sponsor of the Horse of the Year show in Birmingham on 8 October and a secondary sponsor of rugby side the Ospreys.
