Date for Amec case

THE CASE of the former Amec construction boss suing the company for unfair dismissal will begin next spring.

Steve Bowcott was sacked by the firm last summer after failing to declare he had awarded a public relations contract to a company owned by his wife.

But in September Mr Bowcott, who was managing director of the group's construction division, hit back and announced he had begun legal proceedings against the firm.

Next year's case will begin on April 24 at the Manchester Employment Tribunal and has been scheduled to last 10 days.
