DBK to project manage 22-storey development

DBK Group has will project manager on a proposed 22-storey development in Birmingham which will house 734 student units.

The company will also take on the role of cost consultant, BREEAM assessor, utilities consultant and CDM coordinator

Plans for the development by London-based Eley Properties UK plc are being considered by Birmingham City Council’s planning department and if approval is given DBK hopes to let the build contract in late 2008, with building starting in early 2009.

Located at Lancaster Circus, the scheme includes a mix of studios and bedroom clusters, a laundry, gymnasium, central courtyard and top floor common room. The architect for the building is Pringle, Richards, Sharratt, also London-based.

DBK expects the development to take 24-months to construct.
