Demo project request

LOCAL authorities are being invited to submit demonstration projects to the Rethinking Construction efficiency drive, based on Sir John Egan's report of the same name.

The Local Government Task Force is looking for schemes and authorities that comply with the Movement for Innovation principles that the report spawned.

Construction and local government minister Beverley Hughes said the initiative gave authorities the chance to show how best practice can influence the cost and construction time of projects.

She added: 'It will enable authorities to show just what can be achieved from a partnership approach to design and construction.'

Nominated projects must be put forward by December 10.
