Derbyshire £24.6m transport boost

Derbyshire County Council will spend £24.6 million on improving transport for its residents.

The council has said it will refurbish more than 100 miles of road and 22 miles of pavement by April 2009.

It will also replace 600 bus stops, 680 street lights and 11 train and bus stations. Work is due to begin in March.
