DESERT STORM: Workers returned to the world's tallest tower in Dubai this week after rioting in protest over low salaries and mistreatment.

Work stopped last week as over 2,500 workers at the Burj Dubai tower project attacked security officers and smashed equipment and machines in a row sparked when the buses to take them home after their shifts were delayed.

Workers on £550 million project are calling for an increase in pay with skilled workers earning just over £4 per day and labourers £2. Dubai-based construction f irm Al Naboodah Laing O'Rourke is main contractor on the site.
