Design underway for new Lothian fire training facility

The design process is underway for a new £7 million training facility for Lothian and Borders fire service.

At present, Edinburgh City Council are accepting design tenders for the new training centre at Newbridge, Midlothian.

The project will be delivered in six phases over several years to reflect the funding strategy, with the first phase completed by late 2009.

The commission is for multi-discipline design services including architect, services engineer and structural engineer.

Invitations to tender will be sent out on January 28 2008. Requests to participate must be with the council by December 13 2007.
